
The South Philippine Union Conference (SPUC) education department held its regular education council advisory on February 20, 2019, at the SPUC headquarters, Carmen Hills, Cagayan de Oro City.
Dr. Bobby Asis, SPUC education director and chairman of the council, reiterated the mandate that educational institutions from elementary to higher education should uphold the standards of Adventist Education. The director made an appeal that schools and colleges adhere to the SDA church’s policies on competitive sports and health for schools and colleges, particularly on food choices served at cafeterias and canteens.
In attendance were the vice presidents for academic affairs of Adventist Medical Center College,
Mountain View College, and South Philippine Adventist College. Other regular members were education superintendents of SPUC missions and conferences and principals of academies and some elementary schools.
Participants from AMCC were Mrs. Febe Lavador, High School Principal, Mrs. Joy Osorio, English instructor, and Dr. Ian C. Abordo, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
